Betty Sue Young Thomas, age 75, widow of John Earl Thomas, Sr. of 509 Browning Avenue, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at her home.
She was born in Clinton and was a daughter of the late Edgar and Thelma Powers Young.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. She owned and operated Betty’s Snack Bar for over 30 years. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Thomas Wright of Joanna; her sons, John Earl Thomas, Jr. (Kim) of Clinton, Bobby Thomas (Amanda) of Joanna and Jeff Thomas (Kristi) of Clinton; her brother, Robbie Young (Joan) of Kinards; her sisters, Annette Quinton and Carolyn Cline (Steve) both of Clinton; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brother, Edgar “Chic” Young and a sister, Jewell Wilson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6th at Joanna First Baptist Church at 4 PM with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
