Frank McDuffie Templeton, Jr. “Mack” passed away, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 after a long valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He lived most of his life in Joanna, SC and was the son of the late Frank McDuffie Templeton, Sr. and the late Cleo Robinson Templeton.
Mr. Templeton served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and worked at Self Mills in Joanna for 47 years. He was a lifelong Clemson Fan and enjoyed many games with his friends and family. Mack was so looking forward to Clemson’s upcoming football season. He also enjoyed playing golf and gardening over the years. He was a member of Davidson Street Baptist Church in Clinton.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Campbell Templeton; his son, Frank Templeton, III and wife, Tammy of Clinton; his daughter, Elizabeth T. Shealy of Newberry; he loved and adored his grandchildren, Zac Templeton and wife, Carly of Joanna, Tucker Shealy and Mason Shealy; and his great-grandson, Noah Templeton.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Jean Templeton Bridges.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 2 PM at the Davidson Street Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The family will be at home, 1310 Dave Drive, Newberry, SC 29108.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Davidson Street Baptist Church, 400 Davidson Street, Clinton, SC 29325 or Hospice of Laurens County, PO Box 187, Clinton, SC 29325.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the caring staff of the Lighthouse Hospice from Irmo and the Hospice of Laurens County for their wonderful care to Mack and his family. A most difficult time was made easier with this expert care from everyone. Over the years HOME has felt like Davidson Street Baptist Church for our family, and we are so grateful for the care and love the church has shown us.
