Helen Louise Wicks, 84, of 117 Fair Drive, Clinton and wife of the late Lewis C. Wicks passed away on March 16, 2018 at the Hospice House of Laurens County in Clinton, SC.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ she was the daughter of the late Sedric and Helen (Mitchell) Ellis.
As a new bride she lived in Patchogue, LI for 35yrs where she was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, LI CB Radio Club (Blondie), and employed by McPeaks Adult Home. During the summer when not at work you would usually find Helen & Lew camping at Smith's Point County Park on Fire Island National Seashore.
In 1988, she retired to Clinton, SC and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and enjoyed visiting the Church of the Epiphany in Laurens. She was also a 50yr+ member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Amaranth, Club 33 and Happy Days.
Surviving are her three daughters: Linda (Clark) Caplan, Lori Wicks and Lisa (Freddy) Wicks-Center all of Clinton, SC; and a son Alan (Debbie) Wicks of Everett, Washington.
In addition to her children she is mourned by sister Ruth Murray of Tampa, FL and brother Clifford (Carol) Ellis of Trenton, NJ; brother-in-law Richard Prentiss, grandchildren Alicia Lucas, Ashleigh (Michael) Roth, Stacee (Lyndon West) Caplan, Jennifer Wicks, Stephen (Kayla Clark) Caplan, Anna (Tim Sixberry) Caplan, Thomas (Amaya) Caplan, Jeffrey Wicks and Sarah (David Mills) Wicks; 11 Great Grandchildren; 2 Nephews; 3 Nieces; and loved ones Marlene & Berlie Wood, Pamela Waite, and Katie (James & JT) Williams.
Helen was predeceased by her son Lewis C. "Skipper" Wicks Jr; sister Mary Prentiss; grandchildren Edward and Shannon Mays; and brother-in-law Robert Murray.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, March 19, 2018 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Clinton, SC conducted by Father Charles Davis and Father Paul Abernathy. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
Fraternal services will occur in the All Saints Parish Hall at 9:30am followed by receiving of friends prior to the funeral service.
