Paul Ellis Campbell

Paul Ellis Campbell, Sr., age 87, widower of Lindy Lou Boyce Campbell, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 at the home of his sister-in-law, Nita Thomas.
Paul was born on August 26, 1936 in Greenville County, SC, and was the youngest son of the late William Arthur Campbell, Sr. and Mary Emma King Campbell. Paul was an Associate Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at the Presbyterian College in Clinton, where he taught from 1961-2007. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Melody Campbell Kennedy of Raleigh, NC; a son, Rex Wesley
Campbell of Clinton; a brother, Joseph Melvin Campbell (wife Jackie) of Pelzer; a sister, Johnnie C. Lowry of Pelzer; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Pitts Campbell of Clinton; five grandchildren, Meredyth Ellis C. Beagen, Heather Elizabeth Campbell, Elizabeth Dare K. Peebles, Katherine Paige K. DiFilippo, and Trevor Dwayne Samples; a step-grandson, Barrett Alston Jennings; a step-granddaughter, Brantley Jennings Nelson; twelve great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was predeceased by two sons, Paul Ellis Campbell, Jr. and William Edgar Campbell; two brothers, Falconer Marion Campbell and William Arthur Campbell, Jr.; and seven sisters, Beaufort Lee C. Bridges, Emma Kathryn C. Hart, Nancy Florence c. Freeman, Mary Ellen C. Guest, Bessie Ruth "Becky" C. Holliday, Barbara Lois Campbell, and Bobbie Nell Campbell.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 7th from the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Lindsay Graham, Mr. Rod Holmes, Mr. Thomas Watson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
A reception with light hors d'oeuvres will be held following the service from 4:00 PM – Until at Roma, 105 East Laurens Street, Laurens, SC 29360.
