William Camellous Dobbins

William (Bill) Camellous Dobbins III, 84, of Rocky Mount, Va. and formerly of Mount Pleasant, S.C., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Camellous Dobbins II and Helen Blakely Dobbins; siblings, James Randolph Dobbins and Judith Dobbins Surles; and granddaughter, Laura Elaine Dobbins.
His surviving family includes his children, William (Will) Camellous Dobbins IV and Ashley Dobbins Smith and husband, Michael (Tony); former spouse, Elaine Dobbins Lee; grandchildren, Blake Anthony Smith, Austin Michael Smith, and Taylor Ashley Smith; and great-grandchildren, Mason Dobbins-Keffer and Cyrus William Brooks.
The family extends special appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff at Lewis-Gale Medical Center for their care.
A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with the Rev. Dr. Mike McCracken officiating. A private burial for family will follow.
Visitation will take place prior to the service 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home in Clinton.
