Aaron E. Balkham, age 82, of 119 Fair Drive, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, in the Diamond Health and Rehabilitation Center in Simpsonville.
He was born in Laurens County and was the son of the late King E. and Sara Estelle Balkham.
He was a retired Master Sergeant from the Air Force, Campbell Lodge Scottish Rite 32; and York Rite. He was also retired from Torrington Bearings Co. He was a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple of Laurens County and was a member of Bellview Baptist Church.
Mr. Balkham is survived by his wife, Bertha Balkham, of the home; a granddaughter, Emma Lee Graham, raised in the home; a daughter, Linda Ginn, and husband Cecil; a son, Dennis Balkham, and wife, Rita, of Mount Pleasant; step-daughters, Angie Wilson, and husband Jerry, of Due West, Inez Graham Cox, of Honea Path, Wallace Graham, of Clinton; and grandchildren, Steven Ginn, of Columbia, Bradley Balkham, and wife, Kristen, of Goose Creek, Heather Kotara and Jason, of Florida; step grandkids, Merritt Galloway, Brittany Wilson, Mikela Wilson, Jeremie Wilson, J.B. Latham, Cody Cox, Chase Cox, Gracie Graham, and Wallace Jr; great-grandkids, Jessica and Austin Ginn, Langston Ginn, Rece Balkham, Austin Scarboro, and Attie; and his sisters, Louise Nelson and husband Roger, Joann Davis and husband, Billy Ray, and a brother, Leroy Balkham, and his wife, Delores.
He was predeceased by his brother, Jamie Balkham, a grandson, Bill Ginn, and his first wife, Evelyn Balkham.
Funeral Services will be officiated by Rev. Adam Powers, and Rev. Phil Bryson, on Saturday, January 19th, at 11:00 a.m. at Bellview Baptist Church with burial in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
