Alan "Ears" Petty

Alan “Ears” Petty, age 60, of 689 Northside Church Road, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Hospice of Laurens County.
He was born in New Orleans, LA and was a son of the late M.P. Petty and the late Lois Farmer Petty Sirmans and step-father, John Sirmans.
He was a hunting guide at Singletree and Harris Springs Hunting Preserve and employee of Miller Electric.
He was a Past Governor and member of the Joanna Moose Lodge and will be remembered as an outstanding athlete with CHS Class of “75”. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by a son, Ty Petty of Joanna; and Papa Ears to his two grandchildren, Edyn Joanna Petty and Christopher Brayson Petty; his companion, Randa Dees of Laurens; nieces and nephews, Lisa Hiott, Curry McLendon, Josh McLendon and Larry McCravey; four great-nephews and four great-nieces.
He was predeceased by a sister, Gloria McLendon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4th at Community Baptist Church with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m.
