Alex G. “Jerry” McGee, Sr., age 67 of 282 Locust Street, Lydia Mill, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late William Orrah and Marguerite Harris McGee.
Mr. McGee was retired from Clinton Newberry Natural Gas Authority and was a
U.S. Army Drill Sgt. and served in the S.C. National Guard with 10 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Alice “Jewell” McGee of the home; a son, Alex Gerald McGee, Jr. and wife, Amy of Clinton; a daughter, Julie Brannon and husband, Richard of Clinton; five brothers, Billy McGee, Eddie McGee and Tony McGee, all of Clinton, Marty McGee of Shelby, N.C. and Barry McGee of Greenwood; a sister, Jean Cauble of Clinton; four grandchildren, Lori Moss and husband, Tyler, Kayse Fabans, Alexandria McGee and Hailey Brannon; a great-granddaughter, Campbell Moss; and his only living uncle and namesake Alec Harris of Greenwood.
He was predeceased by his brother, Michael S. “Trigger” McGee.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
