Alvin Wayne Alewine

Alvin “Wayne” Alewine, age 79, of Cayce, SC, widower of Brenda Wallenzine Alewine, passed away, Thursday, February 6, 2025 at his daughters home.

He was born November 29, 1945 in Newberry, SC, and was the son of the late Marion Woodrow and Myrtie Mae Bouknight Alewine. Wayne dedicated 39 years of his life to serving in the SC National Guard.

Wayne was a devoted father and grandfather, leaving behind his daughter, Angela Hope Somogyi, of Cayce; and his grandchildren, Justin McCormick, Garry Knight, Shane Knight, Marybeth Jones, Allen Davis, and Tyler Davis.

Wayne is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Brenda, his parents, and is the last surviving member of his family.

A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2025 at Pinelawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
