Alvin C. Edge, age 81 of 745 Hanks Rd., died Sunday, February 5th in the Martha Franks Retirement Center.
He was born in Woodruff and was a son of the late Manning and Theola King Edge.
He was retired from the Greenwood Highway Department, a member of Palmetto Lodge #19 AFM and Bellview Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Hanks Edge of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Sherry Edge of Laurens; two daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Hill of Fountain Inn and Susan and Fulmer Hutchinson of Pigeon Forge, TN, five grandchildren, Brittany Edge, Shelby Leopard, Brian Tumblin,
Jason Hutchinson and Crystal Lelfer and four great-grandchildren, Ryan Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Dalton Lelfer and Justin Tumblin.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 8th at 3:00 p.m. in Bellview Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home.
