Alvin W. Gilmer, Sr.

Alvin W. Gilmer, Sr. age 76 of 610 Bailey St., died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at his home.
He was born in Belton and was a son of the late Robert and Mattie Stowe Gilmer. He was retired from Laurens Glass; was a member and a choir member of Bellview Baptist Church, a Mason and member of Campbell Masonic Lodge #44 and a veteran of the US Army.
Surviving are his wife, Della Burkhart Gilmer of the home, one son, Alvin Gilmer, Jr. of Mary Esther, FL, four daughters, Sherry G. O’Dell of Ware Shoals, Diana Martin of Gastonia, NC, Norma
Gilmer of Clinton and Tena Hairston of Houston, TX; one brother, Riley Gilmer of Clinton, two sisters, Dorothy Flick of Clinton and Madge Sisk of Columbia, 8 grandchildren, Amanda Free, Jeremy O’Dell, Jarrett Thompson, Matthew Canipe, Jacob Canipe, Alicia Leighanne Hairston, Robert Barrington (Barry) Hairston, II, Jessica Gilmer and five great-grandchildren, Aidan Free, Olivia Free, Misty O’Dell, Jordan Barker and Caleb Barker.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. in Bellview Baptist Church with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home, 610 Bailey St., Clinton.
