A. Merrill Smith, Sr

Dateline- Laurens, S.C. A. Merrill Smith, Sr. age 84, of 109 McGowan St. and widower of Wanda Lee Smith died Friday, January 25, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Hebron, MD and was the son of the late Daniel and Ruth Hearne Smith.
Mr. Smith was a farmer, a school bus driver and a retired employee of Torrington Bearings Co. He was also a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
Surviving are eight children, Bonnie and David Wilson, Georgia Steerman, Frances and Gary Robinson, Albert Jr. and Audrey Smith, Nancy and David Farnum, Betty and Keith Wyatt, David Smith and Grace and Frank Anderson; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Temple Baptist Church with interment in the Laurens City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
