Andrew "Andy" G. Heiney

March 9, 1979 — May 5, 2024

Andrew "Andy' G. Heiney, 45, of Clinton, South Carolina, passed away, Sunday, May 5, 2024.
Andy was born March 9, 1979 to Betty and the late George Heiney, and grew up in Oxford, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Heiney, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Jessie and Johnny Jacks, brother-in-law Bryan (MariPat) Jacks, Stephanie's sons Drew Jacks, Nathan Burton, and Matthew (Maecy) Burton, and grandchildren Weston Jacks, Corley Burton, Teal Burton, his mother Betty Heiney, sister Claire (Sam) Moldovan, brother Brett (Erica) Heiney, and his nieces and nephews Zoe, Cameron, and Kacey Moldovan, Olivia and John Heiney and Bryce Jacks.
Andy knew from a young age he wanted to be a paramedic, and after graduating high school from West Nottingham Academy in Colora, Maryland, Andy received a bachelor's degree in emergency medicine from Western Carolina University, in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
Following college, Andy moved to Laurens County to pursue his lifelong dream, serving as a paramedic, lieutenant, and captain with Laurens County Emergency Medical Services. In his more than 20 years of service with LCEMS, Andy dedicated himself to providing excellent medical care and sharing his knowledge, expertise, and love of emergency medicine with his colleagues. As proof of his dedication, Andy received the 2022 J.P. Strom Award, and was voted LCEMS Paramedic of the Year by his colleagues multiple times.
Andy believed that family was about more than blood, and whether colleague, friend, or relative, Andy didn't make friends; he made family. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, laughing, eating, and having fun, especially when it included time on the water or at the beach. Andy's favorite memories always involved spending time with Stephanie and their family at Lake Greenwood, boating, grilling, and telling stories, beach vacations with his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, fishing trips with his dad, as well as traveling adventures with Stephanie and friends and Kentucky Derby parties.
Andy was a bright light in this world. He will be missed.
