Anna S. Cheek peacefully entered her heavenly home on March 22, 2012.
Born July 18, 1920 in Gray Court, SC, she was the daughter of the late A.C. and Carrie Jesse Shell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton where she was an active member for many years in the Workman Sunday School Class, the Moore Truluck Circle and the VIP’s. She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary.
She worked various places as she moved with her husband, Hack, during WWII. She later was a dental assistant, a teacher at Whitten Center, and then co-owned the Speciality House, a catering business before retiring.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice C. Riddle and her husband, Damon; a son, Harold C. “Hal” Cheek, Jr. and his wife, Sarah; a granddaughter, Blaire Allison Reynolds and her husband, Tim; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold C. “Hack” Cheek, a grandson, Harold C. “Cal” Cheek, III, a sister, Edna Green and a brother, Creswell Shell.
A celebration of her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Clinton on Saturday, March 24th at 2:30 p.m. with burial in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends before the service on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the church.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Clinton, Agape of Laurens, Agape Hospice or the charity of one’s choice.
