Audrey Moore Johnson

Audrey Moore Johnson went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
Audrey was a wonderful person. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Audrey was born on July 22, 1929, to William F. and Annie Mae Campbell King.
Audrey is predeceased by her first husband Frank Moore and her grandson Brian Piester.
Audrey is survived by her devoted husband James Johnson, daughters Elizabeth (Charles) Steele, Becky (Glen) Browder, and Kathy Moore; grandchildren Frank and Thomas Steele, Rebecca (Steven) Lindler, Bond Piester, and Jenny Browder; great-grandchildren Daniel, Andrew, and Tyler Steele, Emily, Jacob and Joshua Lindler, Danial and Dalton Piester, and Shannon Aldridge; great-great grandchildren Riley, Aiden, Ryder, and Jayden Steele and a very special niece Diane (Roy) Whitney, whom Audrey considered a daughter.
Audrey was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was very close to her three daughters and two sons-in-law. Her grandchildren called her Audrey at her request and all shared a special bond with her. She was very proud of each of them. Time spent with her family was the most precious thing of all to her. She cherished all the visits and phone calls.
Throughout her adult life, Audrey held many different jobs. She worked as a store clerk, dental assistant, aide at Whitten Center, pharmacy tech, and police dispatcher. Of all her jobs, she loved working as a police dispatcher for the City of Clinton best. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Clinton.
Because of poor health over the last few years, she was not able to get out much. When she felt like it, she very much enjoyed going out to eat, seeing friends, and going in a store just to look around. She loved talking with her niece and friends especially Mary Ellen Graham, Betty Bolt, Elaine Smart, and Wilma Mattison.
The family would like to thank her loving caregivers, especially Keisha Burton and Brooke Lattimore, her nurse Angela Fuller, Dr. Rollo Villareal, and Dr. Peter Partee.
Services will be held Friday, December 6 at 3 PM at Gray Funeral Chapel in Clinton, SC. Pallbearers will be Charles, Frank, and Thomas Steele, Glen Browder, Bond and Danial Piester, and Steven Lindler. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery Clinton, SC.
In lieu of flowers, Audrey requested memorials be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 100 Plaza Circle, Suite A2, Clinton SC 29325.
