Barbara Jean Starnes

 Barbara Jean Starnes, age 78, widow of James Edward Starnes, passed away, 

Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at her home. 

 She was born on December 24, 1945 in Greenville, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Francis Dale Yoakem and Mary Reva Young Yoakem. Barbara retired from Whitten Center as one of their bus drivers and was a member of the Lakeview Church of God, The Tavern Church of God. 

 She is survived by her son, James Ervin Starnes (Denah) of Laurens, her grandson, Ty Orr; her brother-in-law’s, Cecil Starnes and Jerry Starnes, Bill Jacobs; her nephews, Cecil Kenneth Starnes, Curtis Starnes, Billy Jo Pearson, Alvin Pearson and Steven Jacobs; her nieces, Betty Jean Pearson and Heather Jacobs. 

 Graveside Services will be held on August 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Chad Jordan officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the services at the cemetery. 

Gray Funeral Home of Laurens is assisting the Starnes family with arrangements.
