Ben E. Norman age 81, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Shelby, NC and was a son of the late John and Clara Beam Norman.
Mr. Norman was a retired Rhodes Furniture Store Manager. Prior to his illness he was a member of the Green Pond United Methodist Church choir.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa Mahon Norman of the home; two daughters, Amy Boucher and Beth Dickerson and two step children, Lynn Mowinckel and Robert Skidmore; three sisters, Louise Burch of Forest City, NC, Peggy Norman of Shelby, NC and Carol Jenkins and husband, R.B. of Gastonia, NC; a brother-in-law, Clyde Estridge of Raleigh, NC; three grandsons and two step grandsons.
The family will receive friends at the Green Pond United Methodist Church on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the church, with a committal service in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
