Berley Lee Miller, Sr. age 88 of 23530 S.C. Hwy. 121, one of the greatest
Generations departed Saturday, January 21, 2012 in the Newberry Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Newberry County and was a son of the late Louick P. and Ethel Berley Miller.
Mr. Miller was retired from J.P. Stevens as a general overseer of weaving. He was a member of the Whitmire United Methodist Church and was a past commander of the American Legion Whitmire Post 70. He was a member of 40 and 8 organization in Newberry. He served in WWII with the 3891 Trucking Company and served during the D-Day invasion through the Battle of the Buldge. Mr. Miller loved his family, church and country.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Johnson Miller of the home; three sons, Berley L. Miller, Jr. and wife, Lavada of Prosperity, Lovick P. (Pete) Miller and wife, Carla of Woodruff and William L. Miller and wife, Peggy of West Columbia; a daughter, Margaret M. Koon and Harold Caldwell of Lexington; two sisters, Carolyn Fulmer of Newberry and Ann Alewine of Rock Hill; and numerous grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Newberry Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
