Bernice Gail Sexton Croy, age 83, of 108 Beauregard Street, widow of James Barney Croy passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 27, 1937 in Clinton and was the daughter of the late Edward Vance Sexton and Bonnie Woody Sexton. Mrs. Croy was formerly employed with C.W. Anderson Hosiery Mill, Thornwell Home for Children, and Whitten Center. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Croy will be missed by her friends, as she was always on her porch with a friendly smile and having conversations about everything that was going on in her neighborhood.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Gail Patterson (O'Neil), Jackie Kernells, and Jamie Lawson (Joel) all of Clinton; two grandchildren raised in the home, Star Croy and Dustin Sherfield; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Croy was predeceased by a son, James Edward "Eddie" Croy; her brothers, Billy Sexton and Douglas Sexton.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 2PM at the Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Phil Bryson officiating.
The family will be at the home, 108 Beauregard St., Clinton, starting Tuesday morning March 30, 2021 throughout Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
