Bessie Reed White

Bessie Reed White, age 93 of 213 N. Main St. and widow of Marvin Leo White passed away Sunday Sept. 1st at her home.
She was born in Monica, IL and was a daughter of the late James and Martha Kirby Reed.
Mrs. White worked in textiles for many years at J.P. Stevens in Whitmire and retired from Whitten Center in Clinton, SC. She was a member of the First Church of God in Whitmire, enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society as long as she was able and she proudly supported her husband during his 20 year military career.
She is survived by two daughters; Joan Burnette Wagner (Mike) of Waterloo and Judith Sehgal of Ormond Beach, FL.; four grandchildren, David Sehgal (Andrea), Angela Sehgal, Lu Ann Tilley (Eddie) and Phillip Malpass; six great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. White was the last of six children, a brother and four sisters and was predeceased by a grandson, Ronald Malpass.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Sept. 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the First Church of God of Whitmire by Rev. Mitch Byers with burial in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
