Betsy Attaway Crumpton age 83, of 92 Lowry St and widow of Chris Crumpton passed away Tuesday, October 29th , 2013 at her home.
She was born in Newberry, SC and was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Bishop Attaway.
Mrs. Crumpton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitmire where she taught Sunday school for 44 years. She was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens Whitmire Plant and a member of the Eastern Star Newberry Chapter #226. Mrs. Crumpton was also a member of the National Clown Association and enjoyed using her clown training to minister to others.
Surviving are two sons, Tommy Crumpton and wife, Shirlene, Mike Crumpton and wife, Kathy all of Whitmire; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a brother, Wallace Attaway.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 1st at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Whitmire by Rev. Shannon Long and Rev. Wayne Tobias followed by entombment at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Whitmire.
