Betty Louise Hopkins

 Betty Hopkins, born in Laurens, South Carolina, to the late Edna Louise Lyons and William David Campbell, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, at NHC HealthCare Laurens, at the age of 82, after a long battle with illness. She is survived by her beloved son, Greg Hopkins, and her brother, Don Campbell. She was predeceased by her brothers, David Campbell and Carroll Campbell, and her sister, Janice Arnold.

In her early years, Betty worked in the textile industry and dedicated herself as a homemaker, raising her son Greg with love and care. In her later years, Greg was always by Betty's side, caring for her and watching over her. Even during her bedridden years, Betty remained engaged with the world, frequently calling friends and family to discuss the latest news and share in meaningful conversations. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many in her community. 

Betty's life was difficult due to her years-long health struggles that made everyday activities all the more challenging, but we take comfort in the fact that her body rests now, and she suffers no more. As we reflect on her journey, we find solace in the words of Jesus: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28  

A Funeral Service to honor Betty's life will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Clinton on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM, conducted by Rev. Phil Hall. Burial will be at Pinelawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her memory. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Betty's name. 

Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
