Betty Bumgarner Sims, age 80, and the widow of William Ray Sims, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
Mrs. Sims was born January 16, 1934 in Union County and was a daughter of the late Grover and Annie Lee Keller Bumgarner.
She was a retired beautician, a choir member of the McCutchen Memorial Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed working and living on her farm.
Mrs. Sims is survived by her sister-in-law, Sharon Bumgarner of Clinton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sims was the last surviving member of six siblings, Donald Keller, Harold Bumgarner, Carl Bumgarner, Louise Eaves, Lucy Eaves and Gene Bumgarner.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9th at 3:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire with burial in Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends before the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
