Betty Lyda Shepard

Betty Lyda Shepard age 77 of 170 Hanks Road, widow of Charles A. Shepard, died Friday, December 17, 2010 in the Hospice House of Laurens County.
She was born in Clinton, SC and was a daughter of the late Charlie Lee and Clara Brock Lyda.
Mrs. Shepard was a former employee of Clinton Mills and was retired from the Presbyterian Home. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Laurens and served as a school guard.
She was survived by three sons, Bryant Shepard and wife, Janice of Clinton, Bruce Shepard and wife, Gloria of Laurens, and Keith Shepard and wife, Debra of Laurens; two daughters, Charlene Bryson and husband, Ronnie of Laurens, and Laura Howell and husband, Danny of Gray Court; two brothers, James E. Lyda of Clinton and Ronnie Lyda of Fountain Inn; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty five great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Peggy Ann S. Evans; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Shirley McLendon; and a granddaughter, Misty Dawn Evans.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
