Betty Nelson Ammons

Betty Nelson Ammons, age 70, of Whitmire passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Annie Wilson Nelson of Whitmire. She retired from the Torrington Company in Clinton. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Whitmire.
Surviving is her husband of 52 years, Jack M. Ammons. She is also survived by her four daughters, Cheryl Kingsmore of Whitmire, Rebecca Trammell and husband Ernest of Clinton, Janet Campbell of Greenville, Rhonda Steele and husband Randy of Morganton, N.C.; a son, Mark Ammons and wife Robin of Union; ten grandchildren, Alan Kingsmore, reared in the home, and his wife Zoila of Key West, Florida, Meagan Trammell, Elliot Trammell, Brandi Campbell, Trey Culbreath, Andy Culbreath, Julianna Culbreath, Jessie Ammons, Kevin Ammons, and Stephen Ammons; one great-grandchild, Natalie Kingsmore; a sister, Eleanor Evans of Johnston, SC, ; a brother, Marion Nelson and his wife Jewel of Whitmire.
She was predeceased by a grandchild, Matthew Ammons; and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Mar. 11th at 3:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Whitmire with burial in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
