Betty S. Ellis, age 79, of 866 Dogwood Road, Gray Court and formerly of Clinton died Friday, February 3, 2012 in the Hillcrest Hospital in Simpsonville.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Meridian, MS and was the daughter of the late Chester Hardie and Martha Roberson Satcher.
She was a retired LPN from Whitten Center, a member of Bellview Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was the widow of Houston A. Ellis and is survived by a son, Albert P. Brown of Joanna; a daughter Sue Whitmire and her husband, Fredrick of Gray Court; a brother, Clay Satcher and his wife, Jennie of Charlotte, NC; a step-son, Andy Ellis and his wife, Jacki of Clinton; a step-daughter, Judy Sanders and her husband, Jimmy of Clinton; 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Pinelawn Memory Gardens in Clinton.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bellview Baptist Church Building Fund in Laurens, SC or the Holy Cross Episcopal Church Building Fund in Simpsonville, SC.
