Bill Carnes, age 71, of 1258 Woodberry Dr., died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in the Laurens County Hospice House.
He was born in Sumter and was a son of the late William M. Carnes, Sr. and Mary Ethel Garrett Carnes.
He was owner of Carnes Truck-A-motive , was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda (Gail) Bentley Carnes of the home, two sons, Chad Carnes of Laurens and Gabriel Carnes of the home, step children, Steven DeYoung and Josette Wilson both of Enoree and David Bentley of Laurens; a brother, John L. Carnes of Laurens, a sister, Sara Toney of Charlottesville, VA; granddaughters, Morgan and Victoria Carnes, step-granddaughters, Alena Pitts and Marissa Tittis and a step grandson, J. D. Wilson.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 18th at 3:00 p.m. in Light House Baptist Church with burial in Sandy Springs United Methodist church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home in Clinton.
Friends and family will gather at 1:30 on Friday at Gray Funeral Home in Clinton for prayer before departing to the service at the Light House Baptist Church.
