Carol D. Compton, Sr. of 293 Dogwood Lane went to be with our Lord, Friday, January 26, 2007. He was born April 24, 1943 and was the youngest son of the late Samuel E. Compton, Sr. and Corrie Cunningham Compton.
Carol was a self employed contractor with Compton Brothers Builders, was a lifetime member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church and attended Immanuel Christian Fellowship.
He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia J. Compton and a son, Carol D. Compton, Jr. both of Clinton and their mother, Juanita W. Compton of Laurens; three older brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam E. Compton, Jr., of Clinton, George L. and Lovelace Compton of Laurens and James T. and Marian Compton of Clinton; six nieces and nephews, Susan Curry and husband, Jim of Laurens, Dean Compton of Clinton, Lewis Compton and wife, Angela of Laurens, Lynn Downey and husband, Trevor of Clinton, Beth Allen and husband, Nye of Rock Hill and Jimmy Compton and wife, Leigh Anna of Greenville; also 10 great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Maxine Compton.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church with interment in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Clinton.
The family will be at the home of his son, Carol Compton, Jr., 1448 Compton Rd., Clinton.
