Carolyn Barrineau Merchant, age 76, of 216 S. Hampton St, and widow of G.W. Merchant died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
Born in Manning, Mrs. Merchant was the daughter of the late Henry and Beulah Altman Barrineau. She was retired from Whitten Center and she volunteered with Hospice. She was also the organist for Shady Grove Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church in Joanna.
She is survived by a son, Danny Merchant, of Longwood, Florida, two daughters, Kim Nabors of Clinton, and Kristi Shealy of Joanna, a brother, Scott Barrineau of Sumter, as well as three grandchildren, Ashley, Abbey, and Alec, and one great-grandchild, Dalton.
Funeral Services will be held at the Gray Funeral Home chapel in Clinton at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. The service will be followed by burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 at the funeral home.
