Carolyn Ray Thomas, age 65, of 987 Penland Rd., died Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
She was born in Greenwood and was a daughter of Ophelia Alexander Burnett of Laurens and the late Edward Alexander. She was predeceased by her step-father, James “Pops” Burnett.
Ms. Thomas was retired from Avery Dennison as a quality control technician and was a member of the Davidson St. Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her three sons, Tony Ray of Whitmire, Eddie Ray and Rodney Ray both of Clinton; three brothers, Woody Alexander of Laurens, Jimmy Alexander of Fletcher, NC, Larry Alexander of Clinton; two sisters, Shirley Webb of Clinton, Linda Penland of Laurens; and four grandchildren, Tiffany Weathers of Savannah, GA, Krista Stephens of Beaufort, SC, Jena Ray of Whitmire and Stephen Ray of Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the Rosemont Cemetery in Clinton.
The family will be at the home of her mother, Mrs. Ophelia Burnett, 1420 Penland Rd., Laurens, SC.
