Carolyn "Penny" Nelson

Carolyn “Penny” Nelson age 50, of 672 Poole Rd, passed away Friday, December 14th, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Munich, Germany and was a daughter of the late Edward and Janie Sosby Barrett.
Mrs. Nelson was a retired RN from Newberry County Hospital and was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Nelson, of the home; her brothers David Barrett and wife Diane, of Anderson, and George Macomsom of Levonia, Georgia; two sisters, Pat Simpson of Ninety-Six, and Hope Crowder and her husband David, of Newberry; and her father and mother-in-law, Donald Nelson and Lee Johnson; a brother-in-law, Donald Barry Nelson and Laura; a sister-in-law, Melinda Dickson and husband, Randy; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two special companions, Peaches and Molly.
She was predeceased by a son, Eric Robert Nelson; a sister Linda Norris; and two brothers, Hershell Barrett and Charles Barrett.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 17th, at 2 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain David Loser with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
