Carroll Simpson Young

Carroll Simpson Young, age 87, of 29648 Hwy 76 East and husband of the late Ira Belle Summer Young, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late James Willie and Era Simpson Young.
Mr. Young was co-owner and operator for many years of Young’s Service Station, he was a member and deacon emeritus of the Hurricane Baptist Church. He also was a member of The Gideon’s International and the American Legion. Mr. Young proudly served as a S Sgt in the U.S. Army during of WWII.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Ann and Bryan Gault, Lynn and Carlton Smith all of Clinton; two brothers, Odus and Charles Young both of Clinton; one sister, Martha Watts of Clinton; six grandchildren, Laura Ann Gault, Kelly Gault, Jessica Gault, Carlie Smith, Matthew Smith and Justin Smith; three great grandchildren, Bayley Canupp, Lynleigh Rodgers and Bryanne Iusti.
Mr. Young was predeceased by a brother, Hugh Young and two sisters, Bernice Watts and Ame Caldwell.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Apr. 25th at 3:00 p.m.
in the Hurricane Baptist Church with burial in the Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
