Carter Ashton Wright, age 88 of 308 White Feather Circle, Clinton, entered into heaven on February 2, 2006 at Laurens County Hospital.
He was a retired employee of Clinton Mills, a member and former Elder of the Shady Grove Presbyterian Church and a former Elder of the Rock Bridge Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp during World War II.
A native of Clinton, he was a son of the late Donald Vance and Ora Weeks Wright. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby Franklin Wright; two sisters, Edith Wilson of Rock Hill and Ila Bigbee of Clinton and a cousin of the home, Mildred Campbell.
He is survived by a brother, Donald Vance Wright, Jr. of Joanna, two sons, Steven Carter Wright and his wife, Kanova and George Vance Wright, all of Clinton; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and a very dear and special friend, Gladys McKittrick of Chappells.
Visitation will be at Gray Funeral Home in Clinton on Sunday, February 5th from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Joseph Gettys at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church in Clinton on Monday, February 6th at 3:00 p.m. with interment in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
