Cassie Mae Jones Hughes

Cassie Mae Jones Hughes, age 75, of 110 Hwy 49 and widow of Bluford Hughes passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Statesboro, Ga and was a daughter of the late W.H. and Lottie Mae Bazemore Jones. She is retired from Inman Mills and was of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her son, Brian Hughes (Sherry Hughes) of Enoree; her daughter, Dorothy Pearson (David Whitlock) of Laurens; her four brothers, Jearl Jones of Augusta, Ga, Earl Jones of Portal, Ga, Julian Jones of Pelion, SC, Ernest Jones of Norristown, Ga; her sister, Arley Ann Morris of Statesboro, Ga; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by a sister, Sarah Jo Ennis.
Funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens with burial in the Warrior Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends the hour before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 301 University Ridge #5000, Greenville, SC 29601.
