Charles W. Young, age 86 of 29296 Hwy 76 E passed away Friday November 1st, 2013 at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Clinton and was a son of the late James Willie and Era Simpson Young.
Mr. Young was the co-owner of Young’s Gulf. He was a member and former deacon of Hurricane Baptist Church and former member of the Clinton Civitan Club.
He is survived by his wife, Cornelia Dickson Young of the home; son Benny Young (Patricia) of Lugoff, SC; daughters Tami Pledger of Shelby, NC and Charlene Smith (David) of Spartanburg; sister Martha Watts (T.E.) of Clinton; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 3rd at 2:00 PM at Hurricane Baptist Church followed by burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church fellowship hall following the service.
