Charles "Charlie" Godfrey, age 84 , of 99 Duncan St. died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at his daughter’s home.
He was born in Lagrange, GA and was a son of the late Thomas and Myrtle Greene Godfrey.
Mr. Godfrey served as a medic in the Air Force during World War II and later retired from Cone Mills in Carlisle. He also attended Freedom Baptist Church in Newberry.
Surviving are a daughter Linda Godfrey Crayne and husband, Ronald of Laurens; a sister, Carolyn Thompson of Portland, OR; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2006 in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel.
