Charles Edward "Chuck" Heaton, Jr.

Charles Edward “Chuck” Heaton, Jr., age 65, husband of Mary Jane Spillers Heaton passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 at the Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood.
He was born in Walhalla, SC and was a son of the late Charles E. Heaton, Sr. and the late Viola Crumpton Heaton.
Mr. Heaton served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years and retired as a Senior M. Sgt, following his military career he worked for many years with Suburban Propane and Gas, finishing his working years at the “best job of his life” at Robertson’s ACE Hardware in Woodruff.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Travis L. Heaton and wife, Mary Jo of Tallahassee, FL; one daughter, Toynja Freeman and husband, Steve of Laurens; a brother, Larry Heaton of Seneca; a sister, Kay Hart of Mauldin, four grandchildren, Devon Freeman, Fisher Woods, Christie Freeman and Charlie Heaton on the way and three nieces whom he loved very much, Kandi Fredere, Maggie Heaton and Katie Heaton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home of Laurens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Self Regional Healthcare Cancer Center, 1325 Spring St, Greenwood, SC 29646 or Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Toynja Freeman, 204 Country Club Dr., Laurens, SC.
