Charles F. Wilbanks, Sr.

Charles F. Wilbanks, Sr. age 71 of 409 Grant St. died Saturday, Feb. 18th in the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Whitmire, SC and was a son of the late Lounge and Minnie Frost Wilbanks.
Mr. Wilbanks was retired from Cone Mills and was a US Air Force and Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Leila Erskine Wilbanks of the home; four sons, Charles Franklin Wilbanks, Jr., Terry Wilbanks both of Newberry, Marvin Earl Wilbanks, Jerry Wilbanks both of Whitmire; one sister, Fair Garland of Whitmire; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mr. Wilbanks was predeceased by his three brothers.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
