Charles Richard Alexander

Charles Alexander, age 68 of 239 Flint Hill Rd., died Sunday, July 26, 2009 in the Newberry Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Union County and was a son of the late William Allen and Sallie Mae Grady Alexander.
Mr. Alexander was a former employee of B. F. Shaw, was a member of the Joanna Moose Lodge where he served as Governor for two terms, and a member of the National Guard.
Surviving are two sons, Carl Richard Alexander of Joanna, Gary Woodrow Alexander of Las Vegas, NV; three daughters, Tina Pace of Union, Teresa Thrift of Whitmire, Varonica Alexander of Joanna; two brothers, James Alexander and wife, Renee of Abbeville, Lewis Alexander and wife, Dale of Jonesville; three sisters, Lois Jennings, Jessie Wicks and husband, Jerry, Barbara Austin and husband, Carrol all of Union; eight grandchildren, Derek Wilbanks, Kayla Lawson, Amanda Alexander, Megan Thrift, Logan Thrift, Gavin Kelly, Tinsley Alexander, Kennedy Alexander and six great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Carl Walker Alexander and Ernest Douglas Alexander; and a sister, Mary Katherine Alexander Barnado.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 29th at 3:00 p.m. in the Bethesda Baptist Church with burial in Lee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church.
