Charles W. "Buck" Roberts

Charles E. “Buck” Roberts, age 81 of 118 Lynn Ave. died Sunday, January 4th at the Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
He was born in Laurens, SC and was a son of the late Charlie Franklin and Lucille Carmichael Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was retired from J.P. Stevens Watts Plant as a Department Supervisor; a member of the Eastside Baptist Church; a WWII Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Union and was an Air Force trained pilot. He was a member of the Palmetto Masonic Lodge #19 and a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple.
Surviving are his wife, Betty S. Roberts of the home; two sons, Thomas F. Roberts of the home and Charles M. Roberts of Pendleton, IN; one daughter, Janice R. Franklin and husband Larry of Clinton; one sister, Ruth Roberts Cobb of East Flat Rock, NC; five grandchildren, Stacie F. McWatters and husband, Dale of Clinton, Kevin B. Franklin and wife, Elizabeth of Laurens, Ashley Tarrant, Charles Roberts and Joshua Roberts all of Laurens; four great grandchildren, Cameron and Megan Tarrant, Wyatt McWatters and Brock Franklin; a special sister-in-law, Lou Ann Turner of Laurens; five nieces and two nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 6th at 3:30 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, the family will greet friends following the service.
