Clarence L. Martin

Clarence L. Martin, age 81, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 20, 1940 in Whitmire, SC and was a son of the late O.E. Martin and Josephine Bledsoe Martin. Mr. Martin was a US Army Veteran and Reserve from 1963 to 1968 and retired from the Clinton Mills in 2002.
Mr. Martin had been a member of both the Joanna Pentecostal Church and Joanna First Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon and enjoyed working with the youth. Clarence was a dedicated family man and a friend to many.
He also loved his many nephews, and nieces along with his ‘brothers and sisters’ in law.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Tollison Martin of Joanna; his sons, Kevin Martin (Laura) of Clinton and Rodney Martin (Sondra) of Greenwood; his grandchildren, Kelsey Martin, Brock Martin, Mack Martin, Nate Martin, and Seth Martin; and his brother, Harold Martin (Linda) of Joanna.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2 PM at the Pinelawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Jerry Cato, Rev. Mike Campbell and Mr. Buddy Bridges. The family will receive friends at the home, 111 Whitmire Highway, Joanna, SC 29351, Friday, March 18, 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Joanna, 301 Magnolia Street, Joanna, SC 29351.
