Claude L. Montjoy, age 74 of 706 Indian Creek Rd. and widower of Syble King Montjoy died Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late Ernest Eugene and Octivia Burch Montjoy.
Mr. Montjoy was retired from Whitten Center and was a former employee of J.P. Stevens, Whitmire Plant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Joanna and a member of the SC Association of Knife Makers.
Surviving are two sons, Craig Montjoy of Batesburg and William Worthy of Clinton; three daughters, Kay Olge of North Carolina, Cynthia Moore of California and May Wald of North Carolina; one brother, Ed Montjoy of Hickory Tavern; three sisters, Frances Elsmore of Clinton, Mildred McNinch of Rock Hill and Jane Calloway of Wetumpka, AL and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday, September 24th at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
