Clifford L. Harbin, Jr., of 122 Fair Drive and most recently of 18 Plyler Drive, Greenville died after an extended illness early Tuesday morning, December 7th at the home of his daughter and son-in-law. He went into the arms of his Savior with his beloved family at his bedside.
He was born in Waynesboro, GA on September 29, 1932 and was the son of the late Clifford L. Harbin, Sr. and Vera Sapp Harbin.
He is survived by Dianne H. Latham and husband, Kevin, Pamela Garrett and husband , David, Steve Harbin and wife, Lynn, brother Frank Harbin and wife, Ann, his sister, Bobbie Nell Jenkins and her husband, Richard. Grandchildren; Jason Graydon and wife, Lesley, Amy Ervin and husband, John, Alison Garrett, Brooke Garrett, Daniel Harbin and wife, Melissa. Great grandchildren; Haley Graydon, Zoe Graydon, Nola or Jackson Graydon and Lydia Harbin; a special sister-in-law, Grace Williams a niece, Kim Williams; special nephews and nieces, Debbie Mobley, Donna Greiner-English, Cheryl Quick, Lisa Shrum, Lori Messick, Paula Tippett and Frank Harbin, Jr.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of many years, Dorothy and now they are together again, for all time.
Clifford and Dot lived in Augusta, GA for many years, after which they moved to Clinton, SC. He was employed by the United Insurance Company where he had a great many friends who thought the world of him. He was a kind and decent Christian man who treated everyone well and made a friend of everyone he ever met.
He served his country by joining the Navy at a young age and spent time in the Philippines.
He was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ and faithfully attended until his illness made it impossible. His many friends there were kind enough to keep in touch with him during his struggle. Special thanks to his good friend and caretaker, Margaret Hand for all her help and support.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Dec. 10th at 12:00 noon in Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 noon on Friday before the service at Gray Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Clinton Church of Christ or Southeastern Children’s Home or Open Arms Hospice.
