Clyde Otis Reid

Clyde Otis Reid, age 77, of 1712 Watson St. died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in the Newberry Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Laurens and was the son of the late Charlie H. and Beatrice Barton Reid.
Mr. Reid was retired from Cone Mills and the S.C. National Guard after serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He attended the Grace Baptist Church and the Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Kenny Lucas of Whitmire and Judy and Billy Murphy of Laurens; a son, Billy Gresham of Whitmire; a brother, Lewis Reid and his wife, Darlene of Pelzer: a sister, Virginia Ellis of Goose Creek; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two special friends, Barbara Riggs and Don Hurst.
He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Gresham Reid and several Brothers and Sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the Grace Baptist Church with interment in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church.
