Cora Medlin King

Cora Medlin King, age 82, of Clinton, SC, widow of James “Ray” King, Sr., passed away, Sunday, October 13, 2024, at NHC of Clinton.

Born February 17, 1942, in Clinton, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Medlin and Maud Loyd Medlin. Cora owned and operated three corporations, J.R. Rentals, J.R. Mart and J.R. Liquors, Inc. She loved to shop, travel, and spoil her grandchildren. Cora was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

Surviving is her daughter, Darlene King Summer of Clinton; her grandchildren, James “Alex” Summer (Brittany) of Kinards and Hannah Marie King of Clinton; her great-grandchildren, Emeri Summer, Raylan Summer, Mason Honeycutt, and Mailee Baker; and her sister-in-law that she loved as a sister, Alice Medlin.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Ray “Jaime” King, Jr.; her siblings, Evelyn Banks, Joe Medlin, Juanita Bigham, Margie Strickland, James Medlin, Jr., Ruby Brown, Bobby Medlin, Lawrence Medlin, Brenda Martin, Tommy Medlin, and Bradley Medlin. Cora was the last surviving of her siblings.

Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Rosemont Cemetery with Rev. Phil Bryson officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
