Debra Gillispie Whitsel, age 39, of 518 W. Calhoun Street, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Clinton, SC and was a daughter of the late William and Ann Darnell Gillispie. Mrs. Whitsel was a member of the Bible Faith Tabernacle Church. She is survived by her husband Charles Whitsel of the home; her sons Charles Allen Whitsel II and David Nathaniel Whitsel of the home; her daughter Anna Louise Whitsel of the home; and her sisters Chantelle Marckley of Laurens and Pam Matheny of Pickens. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 4:00 p.m. at Bible Faith Tabernacle Church by Rev. Glen Walker and Rev. Jack Hurley. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Donna Price, 406 Magnolia St., Joanna, SC.
