Della Burkhart Gilmer

Della Burkhart Gilmer, age 83, widow of Alvin Wilbert Gilmer, Sr., passed Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Indian Mound, TN, raised in Oak Grove, KY, and was the thirteenth child of sixteen children of the late Chandler Levester Burkhart and Mary Leota Milliken Burkhart. She was retired from Whitten Center after 23 years of service and was member of Bellview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gilmer is survived by her daughters, Sherry Gilmer O’Dell of Ware Shoals, Diana Gilmer Martin of Greenwood, Norma Jane Gilmer of Clinton, and Tena Gilmer Loera (Manuel) of Houston, TX; her son, Alvin Wilbert Gilmer, Jr. (Ellen) of Mary Esther, FL; her brother, David Burkhart of Clarksville, TN; her sister, Dare Fields of Murfreesboro, TN; her eight grandchildren, Amanda O’Dell, Jeremy O’Dell, Jarrett Thompson, Matthew Canipe, Jacob Canipe, Alicia Leighanne Hairston, Robert Barrington Hairston, II, and Jessica Gilmer and her six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton, with burial to take place at Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
