Donald Alva "Tot" Johnson

Donald Alva “Tot” Johnson, age 72, of 183 Flint Hill Road, Whitmire passed away January 10, 2019 at Palmetto Health Richland.
He was born in Newberry, SC and he was the son of the late John Alva Johnson and Lena Blanche Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Whitmire High School.
Don, known to friends as “Tot” worked at serval plants in the area. He was a supervisor at Cone Mills for many years. He was a member and regular attendant at the Whitmire Pentecostal Holiness Church. Tot was a Mason and member of the Roseboro Lodge # 195, an active Hejaz Shriner and member of Good Fellows Lodge. For many years he was an active member in the National Guard. Tot will be remembered for his kind and generous nature, for his laugh and humor, for all the great times he enjoyed sports and music with his good friends.
Tot is survived by his sister, Jonnie Stansbury of San Antonio TX; his niece Leslie Peterson and great nieces Lily and Blair Peterson of San Francisco, CA; nieces Caitlin Stansbury of Los Angeles, CA, Leah Martinez and great niece Makia and nephew Miko Martinez of San Diego, CA, and Randy and Angie Gilliam, Jody Pressley, and Stacy Hansel, his close loyal and loving friends and more friends in the close knit Whitmire Community.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 3:30 PM at the Whitmire Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3:30 PM at the church.
