Doris R. Lyda Blackman

Doris R. Lyda Blackman, 88, formerly from Joanna, SC, widow of Luby A. Blackman, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Lilburn, Georgia.
Born on October 20, 1935, in Durham, NC, but raised in Laurens County, SC, Mrs. Doris Blackman was the daughter of the late Clifford (Pete) and Minnie Butler of Laurens, SC. She was predeceased by her husband Luby Blackman of Joanna, SC, and her oldest son Terry E. Lyda of Clinton, SC.
Doris Blackman is survived by three children: Patricia (Jeff) Williams of Lilburn, GA; Gary (Anna Marie) Lyda of Joanna and Scott (Tosha) Lyda of Whitmire; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one (1) great-great grandson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She is also survived by her brother Ansel Butler of Anderson, SC, and her adopted niece/sister Dianne Butler Engle of Aiken, SC.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Interment at Pinelawn Memory Gardens. Darrell Engle of Aiken, SC will be the officiant. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Williams, Jeremy Williams, David Lyda, Brian Lyda, Christopher Lyda, and Kason Lyda.

Gray Funeral Home of Clinton is assisting the Blackman family with services.
