Doris Wofford Owens

Doris W. Owens, age 88, of 28713 Hwy. 76 East died Friday, February 19, 2010 at her home.
She was born in Newberry and was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Emma C. Wofford.
She retired from Coastal States Insurance with 23 years of service. She was formerly a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Joanna, S.C.
Mrs. Owens is survived by her husband of 68 years, Herbert Owens of the home; four sons, Robert S. Owens of Greenwood, Dr. Rev. R. Shane Owens of Lancaster, David Owens, Jr. of Laurens and Tony Owens of Laurens; two daughters, Tami Owens of the home and Robin O. Dowell of Clinton; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 4:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
